Pathfinder is our primary game system. For a group of family men, time is precious and the Pathfinder Adventure Paths are great resources for our overworked DMs.
However, I do like to branch out from time-to-time. When I get a hankering to do something different, my current preference is Basic RolePlaying.
I confess, I liked AD&D 2e. I obviously didn't care for the Monstrous Compendium, but by the time 2e came out, I felt that AD&D was going off the rails a bit. AD&D 2e seems like a much needed reboot. I also felt THAC0 was a great innovation compared to the old combat matrices.
Having said that, I did miss the old Gygaxian humour and the demons and devils and assassins and various other things that had been sacrificed on the altar of repectability.

Those are terrible. Another reason to loathe AD&D 2e.
