Well no, not really. After a couple of weeks of seeing the fanboys howling on the interwebs about the atrocity of the new Transformers movie and cursing the name of Michael Bay, I went to see what all the fuss was about. Quite honestly, I liked it. It delivered everything I wanted to see, the wanton destruction of several UNESCO World Heritage sites and lots of bouncing of the ample assets of Megan Fox. If you really think there should be more to it, you are expecting way too much from a cartoon franchise featuring an alien robot that morphs into a tapedeck.
By the way, your enjoyment of this movie will be somewhat diminished if you know anything about the geography of Egypt, because Michael Bay most certainly does not.

The question is: Did you like the first one?
I honestly can't remember. I've never been a fan of Transformers in general. Giant robots that morph into cars and trucks seems like something that anyone over the age of 10 should lose interest in. But I love watching things blow up, so I'm sure I must have liked it on some level.
Ahh. I didn't care for the first one. While I acknowledge that the special effects were cool and Megan Fox lives up to her name there wasn't anything about the movie that would make me want to see it again. It was just too pointless and stupid.
I found both movies successfully distracted me for a couple hours, but neither was great. One of the things I have liked in the movies is that there is some humour. I have noticed that most special fx movies tend to be to serious.
I think the next movie should be Transformers vs. Gobots. Look how awesome Alien vs. Predator was.
I didn't see that one either. I loved Predator, but thought Predator 2 was pretty lame.
The early reivews didn't inspire me to change me opinion about seeing the movie either.
Alien vs. Predator or AVP, as it was called, was awful. It reminded me of a lousy video game. You didn't miss much. I never the second AVP. Maybe I'll rent it someday and bask in the awfulness.
