As the gaming world breathlessly awaits what is grinding away behind closed doors at WotC, Paizo is taking advantage of the deafening silence to make some big moves. There was the release of the well-received Pathfinder Roleplaying Game: Beginner Box and now this! Now I know precisely squat about the business of online gaming, so others may correct me if I'm wrong, but I assume launching a new MMO would be the type of project that requires insane amounts of money. Paizo is a pretty big fish in a small pond, but they don't have Hasbro to bankroll their adventures. I wish them luck.

I fear some serious suckage. I've been in on the beta tests for the new star wars mmo and it is amazing but its being put out by Bioware with EA to back them up. That market is quite saturated and the best I can see the game doing is filling a small niche market - considering the input costs this probably isn't something that is going to make sense financially.
I think this is one of those cases where you should stick to what you are good at. I wish them the best though.
The whispers I've heard say the WoW tittle is being dropped by blizzard in favor of a new game entirely. So this may be a chance to make a name for pathfinder in the MMO world.
The timing may not be good for Paizo on that, though. No one expects to even see a beta until 2013. Anyway, I doubt Paizo is really hoping to compete with WoW (or its descendant). It's more likely they want to go up against the smaller competitors...like DDO, perhaps.
I play a lot of DDO. It is really alot of fun to battle-it-out with your buddies, especially when you are fighting familiar monsters and casting familiar spells using the d20 system. If Pathfinder is as good as DDO, will switch over.
By the way, Diablo 3 will be out soon. From what I hear, it is going to be the daddy of all these games with equiptment that you can buy and sell for real money.
